All drivers, who travel on the national road network, are legally obliged (by Government Ordinance no. 15/2002 regarding the introduction of road usage fees and Order no. 769/2010 regarding the approval of Methodological Norms for applying the usage fee for the national road network of Romania) to pay a road fee called a vignette. Its price is determined based on the type of vehicle (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) and the period of validity (1, 7, 10, 30, 60 days, or 12 months). To find out exactly how much the online vignette costs, please go through the information below:
a) Category A - cars
- 1 day – 2.5 euros;
- 10 days – 3.3 euros;
- 30 days – 5.3 euros;
- 60 days – 8.4 euros;
- 12 months – 28 euros.
b) Category B – freight vehicles with a total maximum authorized mass (MTMA) between 0 and 3.5 tons.
- 1 day – 8.6 euros;
- 10 days – 11.5 euros;
- 30 days – 18.2 euros;
- 60 days – 28.8 euros;
- 12 months – 96 euros.
c) Category C – freight vehicles with a total maximum authorized mass (MTMA) between 3.5 and 7.5 tons
- 1 day – 4 euros;
- 7 days – 16 euros;
- 30 days – 32 euros;
- 12 months – 320 euros.
d) Category D – freight vehicles with a total maximum authorized mass (MTMA) between 7.5 and 12 tons
- 1 day – 7 euros;
- 7 days – 28 euros;
- 30 days – 56 euros;
- 12 months – 560 euros.
e) Category E – freight vehicles with a total maximum authorized mass (MTMA) equal to or greater than 12 tons, with up to 3 axles (inclusive).
- 1 day – 9 euros;
- 7 days – 36 euros;
- 30 days – 72 euros;
- 12 months – 720 euros.
f) Category F – freight vehicles with a total maximum authorized mass (MTMA) equal to or greater than 12 tons, with at least 4 axles (inclusive).
- 1 day – 11 euros;
- 7 days – 55 euros;
- 30 days – 121 euros;
- 12 months – 1,210 euros.
g) Category G – passenger transport vehicles with more than 9 seats (including the driver) and up to 23 seats.
- 1 day – 4 euros;
- 7 days – 16 euros;
- 30 days – 32 euros;
- 12 months – 320 euros.
H) Category H – passenger transport vehicles with more than 23 seats (including the driver).
- 1 day – 7 euros;
- 7 days – 28 euros;
- 30 days – 36 euros;
- 12 months – 560 euros.
Attention! Drivers who do not have a valid vignette can be fined up to 4,500 lei.
